This is a great article for someone just beginning on this journey. Especially the permission to take small steps forward and not let perfection hold me back from even starting. Also the links to your past articles are gold.

Aw, thanks, Lise! You've been sooo kind about my gardens; honestly they look even better than when you saw them last. We'll have to make a date for you to come back and have lunch / wine in the garden! :) Truly, so happy the small step concept resonates. It's exactly what it looks like, and that is perfectly okay!

Wonderful article! I am into the flora and fauna of a brand new area- Tennessee. It is remarkable to discover the similarities and differences between California and the South. Every day is a new adventure.

Oh, I'd be so interested in hearing more, Margaret. Every day is a new adventure, indeed! Even for this 30-year Californian!

My husband and I also had a wonderful time on the BBTN garden tour and so happy for you that you also enjoyed yourself. We live in Walnut Creek therefore viewed more gardens in our area-all special in their own way. We have been on our native garden journey for about 4 years now and enjoying so many more birds and butterflies in our garden. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, that's awesome, Sue! I would have seen you at one of them, I'm sure, as that was the plan! Actually, we were going to go to Kelly Marshall's house in Clayton, as she helped us with the latest installment in our gardens, as well as a couple others, but we had done sooo much on Saturday, and I wanted to implement what I learned by shopping for more plants and gardening! :)

Kelly is also assisting us with our garden project and she is such a wealth of information. We did visit her stunning garden—so inspiring.

Oh fantastic. Love her! Was sorry I didn’t get to her house for the tour, but I know there are other opportunities to do so 😁. So glad you’re enjoying working with her. I did as well — immensely so — and I have been recommending her to others.
